Acts 2:42-47

⁴² They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. ⁴³ Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. ⁴⁴ All the believers were together and had everything in common. ⁴⁵ They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. ⁴⁶ Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, ⁴⁷ praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

DEVOTED TO THE APOSTLES’ TEACHING

• Prompt Your people to love Your Word, and to read and listen to it daily
• Speak to Your people through Your Word and give us ears to hear
• Nourish our souls and strengthen us through Your Word
• Reveal Yourself through the Word
• Cause Your people to not just hear Your Word, but to DO IT

DEVOTED TO THE FELLOWSHIP

• Draw to New Life those people YOU want to be in our fellowship
• Prompt those people to come and commit to membership here
  Keep divisive, contentious, destructive people far away from our fellowship
• Purge from our fellowship those who are Satan’s willing instruments
• Cause a spirit of kingdom partnership to sweep over our church

DEVOTED TO THE BREAKING OF BREAD

• Meet with Your people in a special way when they come together around Your table
• Remind us of the excruciating suffering Jesus endured because of our sins
• May we be ‘people of the cross’-willing to endure shame for His sake
  Through the elements, may Your people partake of Christ in a meaningful way

DEVOTED TO PRAYER

• Lord, teach us to pray!
• Stir more of Your people to pray more often, more fervently than ever before
• Raise up an army of intercessors at New Life to lead out in the spiritual battle
• Cause Your people to feel their need to abide in You daily
• Lay prayer burdens on Your people so that Your will might be done on the earth

FILLED WITH AWE

• Do awesome things among us that will reveal Your power and might!
• Perform miraculous wonders that will cause Your people to be in awe of You
• Give Your people a fresh vision of Who You Are and What You Can Do
• Make Your Presence felt among us

GIVING TO ANYONE WHO HAS NEED

• Continue to take us on the journey towards becoming a Radically Generous church
• Open our eyes to the needs around us that You want us to meet
• Help us to give our lives away every day to bless others and bring them to Christ
• Loosen our grip on material things and let Your people experience the Joy of Generosity

MEETING AND EATING TOGETHER

• May Your people experience true community together
• May hurting, lonely people find a place of belonging in this church
• Release the gift of hospitality into our church in a fresh new way
• Raise up many new small group hosts and leaders to shepherd Your people
• May Your kingdom expand through the multiplication of small groups

GLAD AND SINCERE HEARTS PRAISING GOD

• Anoint Your church once again with the oil of joy and gladness
• Release a spirit of exuberant praise in Your church that will cause the enemy to scatter
• Release a spirit of reverent worship in Your church that will cause the enemy to shudder
• Meet with Your people when they gather and inhabit their praises

ENJOYING THE FAVOR OF ALL THE PEOPLE

• Give Your people favor with those in authority
• May Your people become gracious and winsome, adorning the gospel message with their lives
• May we love people so that they would ask ‘Why?’
• May your church become a beacon of hope to our community, holding forth the word of life
• Protect the reputation of Your church against external attacks

NEWLY SAVED PEOPLE ADDED DAILY

• Draw our unsaved friends to Jesus and into a relationship with You
• Make it hard for people to go to hell.
• Bring us to the point where You are adding new believers to this church every day
